The Next England Captain Is...

Following the disastrous exit from the Euro 2008 qualifiers,England had hired Fabio Capello to run the team, sacking Steve McLaren. But one good thing by sticking with John Terry as captain. But following their exit from Euro 2008 qualifiers,Capello is experimenting with players so as to see whether they can handle the pressure of leading their team.Capello's list of 'experimental' captains are:

1.Steven Gerrard-Scored a goal and assisted one as England beat Switzerland 2-1

2.Rio Ferdinand-Did nothing and lost a friendly against France in Parc des Princes 1-0

3.Joe Cole-Lost 4-2 against Italy in a friendly

These players are quality, but Capello might not see them perform at their best for he keeps making everyone the Captain. The best thing would be to bring David Beckham back and make him captain again...

Fantastic Round of matches in European leagues!

IN THE English Premier league(EPL),Chelsea entertained surprise team of the year Portsmouth in a battle at Stamford Bridge.Chelsea took the lead with Ukranian Striker Andriy Shevchenko and doubled the advantage with Micheal Ballack scoring.Benjani Mwaruwari got a consolation. On Sunday, however,Manchester United took on a de-moralised Liverpool team affected by coach Rafael Benitez's squad rotation policy.United ttok the lead with Paul Scholes scoring from near-range and doubled the advantage with a surprise blasted shot from Rio Ferdinand. The win puts United top of the table ahead by goal difference.
Whereas in Spain it was The El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeau with Real Madrid entertaining arch-rivals Barcelona.Madrid took the lead after 3 minutes with a Raul Gonzalez Blanco header and doubled the advantage with Ruud Van Nistelrooy scoring in his debut in the El Clasico.Real were the better side in the match and occassionaly Barca would counter-attack with either Lionel Messi or Ronaldinho Gaucho.Messi was always a threat to Madrid back-4 with once nutmegging both Carlos and Ramos at once.Messi was by far the best Barca player on the field.Valencia also won their match against Osasuna with Spanish International Striker David Villa scoring the only goal of the match.Valencia and Barca are tied on top of the table with Real Madrid behind 2 points in third.Madrid also seem strong contenders for the UEFA Champions League title after Italian coach Fabio Capello reinforced some discipline in the team nicknamed formerly as the Los Galacticos.

Is This The Time Chelsea Lose The Premiership???

Chelsea: Champions for the past 2 years, Champions League quarter-finalists for the past 2 years. Stars like John Terry,Frank Lampard and Joe Cole call it home. Chelsea have also been active in the transfer market.I'm sorry;they're very busy. They bought the following players in the transfer season:
Read as Player Name,Transfered From,Value(in $, in millions),Goals this Season.

1-Andriy Shevchenko,AC Milan,56.8,2
2-Salomon Kalou,PSV Eindhoven,23.6,0
3-John Obi Mikel-Manchester United;Lyn Oslo,21.4,0
4-Ashley Cole,Arsenal,17.6,0
5-Micheal Ballack,Bayern Munich,32.7,0

Even though this wealth of talent, Chelsea are sure to lose the Premier League for sure this season. The reason:Over-Capacited.
They have 3 players for each position which gives competition to the players.
Compare them with Liverpool. They have just less than 2 players for each position.

I'm sure Chelsea will lose the Premier League.
